Phil & Alex Niall have run Durham Falconry for ten years and introduced thousands of people to the art of falconry in the form of Hawk Walks, Experience Days, Professional Courses and Flying Displays.
With over 35 years experience of teaching, training & flying Birds of Prey our team includes instructors who are skilled and versed in all aspects of husbandry, training and flying.
We are based at East Durham & Houghall College, a land based college just outside of Durham City where we have been established for ten years. Durham Falconry run a variety of experiences and courses from the farm which is part of the campus.
The foundations of our services are based around our birds of prey. We fly Hawks, Falcons & Owls from the 450 acres of farm and woodland.
Any of our students, schools, colleges and corporate clients can partake by handling, interacting, training and flying our birds of prey. They can access courses; learn new skills, gain work experience, confidence and a national accredited award in falconry. Craft skills taught include leather making and wildlife tracking.
Additionally we offer workshops in conservation, scientific training, art & photographic sessions, team working & leadership building!
We can offer school sessions to meet your curriculum needs along with school educational packs! Students can be trained at your school, the farm or we can outreach clients in the wider community.
Our Falconry Experience includes working with SEN clients and Autistic groups, we have access to a woodland walking route at the farm/college which is suitable for disabled, wheelchair users and those clients with restricted mobility.
Durham Falconry Experience can tailor a package to include any of the above. Why not give us a call to find out more?
We look forward to hearing from you!
